That day in 2013 was actually a holiday. The goal of the technologist was to encourage good password practice, such as using unique passwords for each account.
This year this day is celebrated on 5th May. The United States celebrates May 5 as Password Day, as well as Cartoonist Day, Museum Lovers Day, National Oyster Day, National Hoagie Day, and International Midwives Day.
