The release date of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is going to hit the market much sooner than what was thought. Qualcomm wants smartphone companies to design and release their best phones before the Chinese Spring Festival. So the first models with this chipset will be available in November this year instead of December and January. Today, a well-known Chinese source said that the new chipset will be revealed after the Double Eleven Qualcomm Summit.
The rivalry between Motorola and Xiaomi continues to grow
Samsung is the first company to launch a new smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon’s flagship chipset. So it is not sure if Motorola will release the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone this year. If not, it will be first seen on the Xiaomi Mi 13 model smartphone. Both Motorola and Xiaomi want the new processor to be released in the market with their smartphones.
Earlier, an executive of the Motorola company said that the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will be the first to be used in their smartphones. This will play an important role in the promotion of Motorola’s upcoming flagship smartphones.
The new processor from the Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturing company will be purchased by various companies including Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola. A significant aspect of this chipset is that it will increase the battery capacity of the smartphone.
Detailed research has been conducted on Power Consumption Optimization on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Technologists expect the new chipset to be much more energy efficient than previous Qualcomm processors.
Earlier the Qualcomm 835 chipset was released in 2016. It was 25 percent more energy efficient than previous Qualcomm chipsets.
Qualcomm’s new processor will compete with Apple’s A16 Bionic chipset. We will have to wait a few more days to know which chipset will gain the most popularity in the competition.
