Meta-owned WhatsApp, a popular messaging app for thousands of users, is introducing a new feature that will allow users to keep messages from disappearing, according to a report by WaBetaInfo.
The feature, called “keep message,” is currently available to some beta testers. With this new feature, users can prevent certain messages from disappearing, which could be useful in case an important message needs to be retained.
Previously, users were unable to keep messages from disappearing because the option to do so was not available. However, the latest update for iOS 23.7.0.72 has introduced this feature for some beta testers.
Not only can users stop their own messages from disappearing, but others can do it to their messages as well. “If someone wants to make a disappearing message disappear again, they need to choose the ‘unkeep’ action, and the message will vanish,” explained WaBetaInfo.
However, the control still remains with the users as they can choose to keep or unkeep the messages. If a message has already been unkept, it cannot be kept from disappearing again.
This new feature gives users more control over their communication by allowing them to access and review the message within the kept messages section. With this update, WhatsApp aims to enhance its user experience and provide a more versatile messaging platform for its users.
