Kub is a kamikaze drone manufactured by the Russian drone Company Zala Aero Group. Before the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, the Russians successfully used the Kub drone against militants stationed in Idlib, Syria.

Russians are less active on social media than Ukrainians and rarely release video footage of their attacks on Ukrainian military equipment.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has warned the Russian military against releasing video footage of the battlefield without permission, and as a result, very little video footage of the war has been released by the Russians.

‘Lantset-1’ and ‘Lantset-3’ are kamikaze drones manufactured by the Russian drone manufacturing company Zala Aero Group. The smaller Lantsat-1 drone can carry 1 kilogram of explosives, and the larger Lantsat-3 drone can carry 3 kilograms of explosives.

Drones can range from 40 to 70 km, depending on the situation. They are basically an improved version of the ‘Kub’ kamikaze drone made by the same company.

The Lanset drones proved to be very effective for the Russians in this war. But it appears that the Russians did not build enough of these drones before the start of the war.

Shahed-136 is a kamikaze drone manufactured by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries Corporation. The drone weighs 200 kilograms, is 3.5 meters long and has a range of 1,800 to 2,500 kilometres.

The Russians ramped up production of their kamikaze drones and began procuring them from Iran. Iran has supplied Russia with various models of drones (Mohajer-6, Shahed-129, Shahed-136, etc.), but the Shahed-136 drone has received the most publicity.

The attack by the Shahed-136/Geran-2 drones proved quite difficult for the Ukrainians to counter. Recently, a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet was shot down while shooting down a Shahed-136/Geran-2 drone, the first time a drone has destroyed a fighter jet.
