Teachers’ Feedback Mistake Goes Viral: “She has Passed Away” Statement on Report Card Raises Panic Among Social Media Users
Teachers’ feedback on report cards is an essential part of a student’s education. Parents often seek the opinions of others on their child’s progress. However, a mistake made by a teacher has caused social media users to panic. The teacher’s statement that “she has passed away” appears on a term three 2019 exam result screenshot, which is now going viral. The nameless student excelled in most courses and finished seventh overall.
Anant Bhan posted the photo on Twitter, where it has garnered over 3,000 likes and retweets. The user said he got the picture from Facebook but did not specify where in the world the student was attending school. Nonetheless, Chichewa, the national language of Malawi in Africa, was included as a topic on the report card.
Mathematics, Agriculture, English, and the Arts make up the rest of the curriculum. Some internet users expressed their disapproval of the teacher’s comments.
One user commented, “May SHE who has passed away be blessed by almighty in her very being here & now with a long healthy happy & prosperous life.” It is unclear whether the statement was an honest mistake or a deliberate error. However, the incident has raised concerns about the importance of teachers being thorough and accurate in their feedback on report cards.
