The main highlights of Sharp’s new premium phones are their displays and cameras. You may be surprised to know that Sharp is the only known OEM other than Xiaomi to use Leica cameras in its handsets.

The Aquos R8 Pro may be released later this year as the Leica Leitz Phone 3. Talking about Aquos R8 series, they are using Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Both models offer 256GB of storage with microSD card expansion support. But the vanilla version uses 8GB of RAM compared to 12GB in the Pro version.

Despite having a 3.5mm headphone jack, the phone uses IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. They offer dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The handsets feature IGZO OLED displays with a refresh rate of 1Hz-240Hz The R8 Pro’s panel measures up to 6.6 inches and has a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits and a resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels. The regular R8 version features 6.4 inches, 1,300 nits and FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels).

Similarly, the Aquos R8 Pro mobile has a 47.2MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary camera. Aquos R8 uses a 50.3MP camera The Aquos R8 and Aquos R8 Pro handsets are powered by 4,570mAh and 5,000mAh batteries. The handset has features of wired and wireless charging.
