In recent times, Europe has seen the rise of Muslim and Islamophobia, anti-immigration, hard-right wing and fascist behaviour. It is also gaining acceptance among the people of Europe. Europe considers itself superior to the people of other regions.
The whole world was happy to see their positive attitude when the Union was established in Europe. But now, the behaviour of the European Union has changed. Attacks on migrants, minorities and Muslims are on the rise on Europe’s streets, in shopping malls and at home.
The 2019 attack on Muslims by a Christian friend while they were praying in a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, and this year’s attack on Muslims in a mosque near Frankfurt, Germany, demonstrate that hatred against immigrants and Muslims is on the rise.
Recently, a cartoon in France represented Qatar’s national football team as terrorists. There, members of the Qatari team were seen carrying pistols and guns. They wore hats and beards.
Europe cannot take events like the football World Cup in the Gulf and Arab regions for granted. Those who wear beards and hats are terrorists; this kind of attitude can be seen in that cartoon.
It is also said that Qatar has no humanity but a dictatorship. Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim strongly protested against such insulting comments against his country. Qatar is spending the highest amount of money to host the World Cup. Qatar has taken commendable steps to highlight the relationship between Islam and Muslims.
Qatar is selling many books on Islam and Muslim history. Visitors can enjoy the Muslim architecture of Mecca and Medina through virtual reality headsets.
The Qatar World Cup stadium pavilion has attempted to depict the history of Islam and Muslims. Many sayings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and hadiths are being published in picture form.
These actions of Qatar deserve praise, but France presents this state as barbaric. France has had this attitude towards Islam and Muslims before.
