We all go through outcome bias systems. It means that if someone is successful in something then he is considered positive from all sides. It is assumed that he has adopted the right method and worked hard at every step to be successful in this work.
We prejudge many things based only on results. Outcome bias involves judging someone from outside for less time because we don’t want to consider many things inside it.
If someone scores well in exams, we don’t think that he is a very good student and a hard worker. But it is also possible that he has faked the exam. Checked the next student’s account and gave the exam.
He can use illegal means in the examination hall. If someone scores poorly on an exam, we think that he is not a good student and not hardworking. There can be many external factors behind doing poorly in the exam.
Maybe the student was sick or stuck in traffic and could not reach the hall on time. We often judge people only by results like this. Don’t want to consider internal factors.
We should not judge anything or make final decisions in our daily life knowing little or just seeing results. A clear understanding of internal factors should be kept. By doing this we can get out of the outcome bias.
