In terms of the economy in South America, only Brazil is ahead of Argentina. At one time their economy was better than France and Italy.
After 1980, their currency, the peso, began to depreciate. Later they approached the IMF. Inflation in Argentina reached 92 percent in 2022.
Argentina’s topography and climate are quite diverse. A large part of the Andes mountain range lies within Argentina. Perhaps in the future, their economy will completely turn around again.
