A leader who possesses strong leadership may become arrogant and presumptuous if he occupies a higher position. There remains the danger of arrogance and pretentiousness among those who work from really high positions. Every moment he has to survive by facing this real problem.
As a man rises to a higher position, his power increases. He then wants people to listen to him carefully and agree all the time. He wants people to disagree with him less. In fact, if ego is present, power can act as a ‘disease’.
Pride and arrogance can distort our perspective and destroy our values. A good leader’s main responsibility will be to not let pride act on his reputation and influence. Let not pride corrupt our beheviour.
If a leader has pride, people will use it as a weakness and try to steer him in the wrong direction. If he wants to show himself to be very great then decisions taken out of ego will cause damage to his organization, institution and all members.
Arrogant leaders stand in the way of others’ success. He becomes more rude and selfish. If one tries to do good he creates trouble in his way. He doesn’t want to learn from anyone’s mistakes.
Arrogant leaders are biased. He cannot distinguish which is the right view and which is wrong. To come out of ego one must reflect selflessness and be courageous. If a leader can take challenge , he can come out of pride and arrogance.
