China’s Sky Eye telescope is the world’s largest radio telescope. A team of Chinese scientists mentioned in their report that they may have received a signal from an extraterrestrial civilization. Such information was mentioned in the Science and Technology Daily of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China on July 14, 2022.
Surprisingly, the report was later deleted. It is not clear why it was deleted. Radio signals used by aircraft and satellites have been detected.
However, the scientists think that they are continuing the discussion based on the preliminary results they have obtained. Caution should be exercised until the analysis is complete.
Zhang Tongji, the lead scientist of this research project at Beijing Normal University, said, “The type of electron magnetic signal we found is quite different. Our team is currently investigating.
He believes that scientists have received the signal as suspected. However, more time is needed to complete the full analysis of this matter. Such reports have created a stir on Chinese social media.
It was discussed on Chinese social media network Weibo. These facts were mentioned in important media of other countries before the report was deleted.
In 2019, scientists received a signal from the nearest star system to the Sun. From this signal, scientists thought that it could be alien technology. But later it was proved wrong.
Scientists have been trying to detect signals from alien civilizations for decades. As part of the effort, the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) project began in the 1960s. The project is still running but no significant signal has been found to mention.
