AMD was widely criticized for launching the RX 6500 XT for 200 dollars. There were a lot of negative reviews because the graphics card did not match the performance according to price. It is expected that AMD will launch more low budget NAVI Based RDNA2 graphics cards. Proving that to be true, AMD Radeon RX 6400 has come in the market. This Ray-tracing supported entry level graphics card will cost just 160 dollars.
As usual, AMD does not have a Founders edition for this graphics card. Custom Board manufacturers’ models are directly available in the market. Yesterday, other brands including Biostar, XFX, ASUS Gigabyte officially released their respective RX 6400 models.
AMD basically brings out the performance of this new graphics card compared to the GTX 1050 Ti. Firstly the price of the card is only 160 dollars, secondly this card will consume much less power as it is entry level, no additional power connector is required. If the card is available in the market at the right price, it will bring good news for low budget-entry level PC builders.
In that case, customers will no longer have to go for cards like the GTX 1050 Ti, but will be able to enjoy Ray tracing for around 150 USD.
If we take a look at the basic specifications of this GPU, we can see that it is a refined version of RX 6500 XT. This means that the specifications are even weaker than the RX 6500 XT. This GPU with 768 streaming processors, 12 Ray accelerators or Ray tracing courses, 48 texture units has a base clock of 2 Ghz and a boost clock of 2.3 Ghz.
Unfortunately, like the RX 6500 XT, this GPU does not support AV1 Decode, H265 / HEVC Encode and 4K H264 Encode. GPUT’s TDP is only 53 watts, no extra power connector is required, only 350 watts power supply can run this graphics card.
The Radeon RX 6500 XT disappointed everyone in performance section. So everything should be checked before buying RX 6400. According to AMD’s slides, this card is basically a 1050 ti and GTX 1650 killer. According to AMD, this GPU will get better performance from 1050 ti and GTX 1650.
