Aditya Roy Kapur, the Bollywood actor known for his roles in movies like Aashiqui 2 and Malang, recently revealed in an interview that his fans were not happy with the release of the Indian adaptation of the British television series, The Night Manager. The actor shared that the series was split into two parts, which his fans found hard to absorb.
Kapur explained that the decision to split the series was not his, but rather the platform’s and their department’s. He added that many of his fans had expressed their disappointment, saying, “we love it but why have you done this?” However, the actor assured them that the wait for the next part was not too long and that it would be released soon.
Speaking about the appreciation that the Indian version of The Night Manager received from the original makers, Kapur said, “It feels lovely yaar. We are all suckers for any validation as actors so it’s always nice when someone appreciates, but especially when obviously the OGs think that we have honoured their work and done a good job with it so it honestly feels good.”
The Indian adaptation of The Night Manager starred Kapur alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. The series received positive reviews and was praised for its performances and direction.
On the work front, Aditya Roy Kapur is gearing up for the release of his next film Gumraah, a Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Thadam. The film is directed by filmmaker Kunal Deshmukh and is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. Gumraah is set to release in late 2023 and is expected to be a gripping thriller.
