Antillia is known as the mythical island. Antilia is named after the famous private residence built for the popular billionaire Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai, India.
Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his family moved here in 2012. The skyscraper is one of the largest and most elaborate private residences in the world.
The building is 27 stories tall, 173 meters (567 ft) tall, and covers 37,000 square meters (400,000 sq ft). The architectural design of Antilia is designed according to the image of lotus and sun. The top six floors of the building are designated as private residential areas.
This huge building is designed to withstand an earthquake of magnitude 8. As of 2014, it is considered to be the most expensive private residence in the world. It cost between US$1 billion and US$2 billion to build. The building was designed by two American architectural firms, Perkins & Will, based in Chicago, and Hirsch Bedner Associates, based in Los Angeles.
On 10 July 2017, a fire broke out on the ninth floor and was extinguished within minutes. Six fire tenders reached the building within 10 minutes of receiving the call.
