The advent of the Dimension series has opened a new chapter for MediaTek chips. In less than two years, the company has made a significant impact in the flagship market. It has a lot of features and the Dimension 9000 series is getting a lot of attention. In this article we will present a complete head-to-head comparison between Dimension 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
The difference between Dimension 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor will be reviewed.
Both processors use the same architectural design. The difference between chip and cache memory design is not so great.
The single core score of Dimension 9000 is 10% higher than that of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Multi-core score tests show that Dimension 9000 is about 21.3% ahead. In the GPU segment, Dimensity 9000 now uses the latest version of Mali GPU. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 uses Andreno 730 GPU. Overall, Snapdragon is ahead of everyone in GPU’s performance.
GPU has improved a lot in Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Gaming performance will be ahead of Dimensity in Snapdragon 8.
The AnTuTu Benchmark shows that the Dimension 9000 flagship running score is 1,007,470 points, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has only 977,951 points under the same conditions. At room temperature, the Dimension 9000 performs better than the Snapdragon 8. Dimension 9000 uses TSMC 4nm process. On the other hand Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chooses Samsung’s 4nm Foundry.
Dimension 9000 consumes less electricity. There is a difference in the power consumption of single core and multi core. In this respect it is in better condition than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. TSMC’s 4nm process has higher efficiency and lower power consumption. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Dimension 9000 consumes more power while gaming.
MediaTek Dimension 9000 is a clear winner in terms of performance and power. In many performance tests, the Dimensity 9000 did not lose out to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. From the benchmark test, we can see that the CPU performance of Dimensity 9000 is more powerful. Moreover, the processor is not hot. It is quite cold. The heat control efficiency is admirable. Dimension 9000 is ahead in almost all cases. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is not far behind on paper.
