We use JPG and JPEG format images on our desktop or handset in our daily work. For public or personal purposes, these pictures need to be sent from one place to another or uploaded to a specific website. But have we ever wondered what is the difference between these two formats? This matter will be discussed today.
JPG and JPEG are described as image formats on various devices, including computers and smartphones. The JPEG format is mainly used on social media, sites and cameras.
The first use of JPEG format images was in 1993. Even then the popular operating system Windows Xp version was not launched. At that time, Windows did not support 4-character format, so JPG was born. Because it was a 3 character format. However, Apple’s device did not have any such limitations. Their device supported both JPG and JPEG formats simultaneously. But now there is no restriction on this issue in all the devices of Microsoft.
Now all types of software can use JPG and JPEG both types of formats. So users do not have to suffer much with this. There is no complication with the format on both Windows and Mac devices.
You can convert from JPG to JPEG or from JPEG to JPG format if you wish. This is very simple. But now he has no need. Because there is no difference between these two formats now.
If you want to rename the file, you need to rename the extension. If there is JPG at the end of a file name just add E after P; the process will automatically be accepted by the system as JPEG format. With the exclusion of E, you can easily convert to JPG format. If you need to change the format of many image files then you have to select all the files together and change the extension. The same rules apply to Microsoft and Apple devices.
