Britney Spears may never perform again; her manager has revealed.
In an interview with The Times, Spears' manager Larry Rudolph said the singer was "traumatised" by her recent public breakdown and was in no fit state to return to the stage.
"It's clear to me she should not be going back to performing in Vegas. She's been through a lot," Rudolph said.
"It's going to take a while for her to get herself back together, physically, mentally and emotionally."
Rudolph also said that Spears' father Jamie Spears, who has been spearheading her comeback attempt, was "extremely concerned" about her well-being.
"She's been through a lot in the last year," Rudolph said. "I don't think any of us really understand what it's like to be that famous."
It is not clear if or when Spears will return to the stage, but Rudolph said he would not be surprised if she never performed again.
"I wouldn't want to put a definitive answer on that," he said. "I don't think she's interested in performing right now."
Spears has been through a tough few year, with her highly publicised breakdown in 2007 and subsequent divorce from Kevin Federline.
