The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will be out in less than two weeks. We’ve been hearing rumors about these new iPhones for almost a year. Many of the rumored features have been mentioned more than once, but there are a few features we haven’t heard much about that we’re not sure will be on the new iPhones. Here are four of those features.
Bloomberg says that Apple is working on satellite connectivity that will let iPhone users send texts in emergencies and report major emergencies in places without cell service. There were rumors at one point that the iPhone 13 would have this advanced feature, but that did not happen.
A reliable industry expert says that Apple does plan to announce that the iPhone 14 will be able to connect to satellites at its event on September 7. The expert says it’s likely that Apple will work with Globalstar to add this feature to the next iPhone.
Reliable In a detailed report about Apple’s early work on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that high-end iPhones would have a vapor chamber thermal system to handle heat in 2022. Kuo said at the time that Apple was “aggressively testing” this kind of solution for the iPhone. High-end Android devices, like those made by Samsung, Razer, and LG, already have vapor chamber thermal systems that help keep the device cool even when it is working hard.
With each new generation of its A-series chip, Apple has made the iPhone more powerful. The new A16 Bionic chip will likely power the iPhone 14 Pro, while the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13 will stay in the lower-end models of the iPhone 14. We don’t know if Apple will use a vapor chamber thermal system or not, but since Kuo’s report in January 2021, no one has talked about it.
Apple began giving customers 1TB of storage with the iPhone 13 Pro. A vague rumor says that with the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple could offer customers even more storage space, up to 2TB, which would be the most storage space ever in an iPhone. The extra storage space could help videographers who use their iPhones to make high-quality, professional videos, but it’s not clear if Apple will make this a choice.
The newest iPhones, Macs, and iPads from Apple all support WiFi 6, which is not the newest WiFi standard. WiFi 6E is the newest WiFi standard. It has faster speeds and better ways to handle high-capacity workloads. Even though it was rumored that the iPhone 13 would support the latest WiFi standard, it didn’t end up doing so. However, it may be on the table for the iPhone 14 line.
We know a lot about the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, but there are still some things we don’t know. The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to find out more about the real thing. On September 7, Apple will hold a special event with the slogan “Far Out.” At this event, the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, the new Apple Watch Series 8, an updated Apple Watch SE, and possibly a new Apple Watch “Pro” are all likely to be announced.
