A global survey found that 94.2 percent of respondents highly praised China’s proposed values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom. China has come up with this proposal for the interests of mankind all over the world. This proposal is called the ‘concept of shared future.
Most of the people who participated in the survey consider this proposal of China to be good for the current conference. CGTN Think Tank and Tsinghua-Epstein Center for Global Media and Communication conducted the survey. A total of 4,000 people from 20 countries were surveyed ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Saudi Arabia and his attendance at the first Sino-Arab States Summit and the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit.
Over the past decade, China has signed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation agreements with 20 Arab states, and 17 Arab states have supported the China-proposed Global Development Initiative (GDI). President Xi spoke on GDI at the General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 21, 2021. Urged the international community to place development high on the global macro policy agenda and work together for global development.
The world today is going through many changes in a century. Both China and Arab countries are eager to work together to accelerate national rejuvenation and national development. 85.2 percent of respondents agreed that countries should take proactive steps to address risks and challenges to global development collectively, while 84.7 percent of respondents expect countries to promote more inclusive and diverse global development and jointly maintain global economic stability.
84.1 percent of respondents said that a prerequisite for cooperation is to respect the differences in the development systems of different countries, and 89.6 percent expect countries to resolve international disputes through negotiation and consultation. 85.6 percent of respondents agreed with the China-proposed Global Security Initiative (GSI) and believed that security is a prerequisite for development.
